Yin said that, in April this year, President Xi Jinping met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and the two countries issued a joint statement on deepening their comprehensive strategic partnership, injecting new impetus into the bilateral relation. In the keynote speech at the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing a few days ago, President Xi reviewed the fruitful achievements of the past decade and announced eight major steps that China will take to support the joint pursuit of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. China's development will create more opportunities of mutually beneficial cooperation for all countries. As the capital of China, Beijing, with its steady progress in economic growth, long history and rich culture, vibrant sci-tech innovation, and openness and inclusiveness, offers enormous room for cooperation and development. Beijing is ready to work with the Brazilian side to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and take China-Brazil strategic cooperation to a new level. More focus will be placed on expanding trade and investment ties, deepening cooperation in areas such as sci-tech innovation and clean energy, promoting closer people-to-people exchanges in culture, tourism, education, and youth to bring about greater mutual-understanding and friendship, and enhancing mutual learning in governance to jointly improve the quality of legislation and governance.

Lira said the visit gave him a deep insight into China's remarkable success and robust economic growth. Given the huge prospect for Brazil-China cooperation, he hoped to strengthen the alignment in development strategies with China, expand areas of cooperation with Beijing, and carry out more fruitful exchanges and cooperation in areas such as economy and trade, sci-tech innovation, clean energy, and legislation, so as to achieve win-win results and common prosperity.

Marcos Galv?o, Ambassador of Brazil in China, and Beijing municipal leaders Xia Linmao, Zhao Lei, and Hou Junshu attended the meeting.
